Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God's love. This program of Samaritan's Purse provides an opportunity for people of all ages to be involved in a simple, hands—on missions project while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas—Jesus Christ.

Food Pantry

We help support the Food Pantry in Winder. It is located in downtown Winder on Candler Street. Bring donated items to the collection box in the narthex.

FOOD PANTRY NEEDS:


Milk (Canned or Powdered), Cereal, Oatmeal, Grits, Canned Meats, Sugar (2lb Bags), Flour (2lb Bags), Corn Meal (2lb Bags), Cooking Oil (Small Bottles), Macaroni and Cheese, Peanut Butter, Jelly, Saltine Crackers, Coffee (Small Bags), Tea Bags, Soup, Meals In A Box, Canned Pasta (Ravioli, etc.), Dried Beans, Rice, Canned Vegetables, Pasta, Tomatoes and Sauce, Juice, Canned Fruit


Focus On...Local Missions

   Right here in our own community are three ministries that provide hope and healing for many folks in need:

   The Light Homeless Shelter offers temporary shelter to the homeless and provides counseling, parenting classes and job opportunities. They are preparing to move from their current Winder location on Griffeth St. to a new 40-bed facility on King St. by the end of April or early May 2006.

The Light is in need of: *monetary donations *pre-cooked frozen meals *pots & pans *kitchen items *hand & bath towels *filing cabinets *typing paper *office supplies  

   Peace Place is a safe home for battered and abused women and children. They also provide support groups, counseling, parenting and job opportunities. Peace Place needs:
*monetary donations *cleaning supplies *paper products *toiletry items

   The Highland House is a home that provides emergency shelter, food and counseling for youth (ages 11 to 18) whose lives have been disrupted by circumstances beyond their control. The Highland House is always in need of: *financial donations *paper products *laundry detergent  *toiletry items

   The Tree House is a member of Prevent Child Abuse Georgia and the Children's Advocacy Centers of Georgia. The Tree House is a United Way Agency. Many of the following items can be donated used, however some donations should be new (i.e. office supplies, food, etc.). Your help and support is greatly appreciated.
